ASI Asynchronous Serial Interface
There are currently two systems that are used with BV products and these are ASI or IASI2 and bVT100. Both have their own merits and features and are described in the headings at the menu on the right >>>
ASI Features
- Two Electrical interfaces, RS232 & Microcontroller
- Medium distance, depends on cabling and speed approximately 10m (30')
- Multiple devices on the same bus (microcontroller interface)
- Up to 26 devices on the same bus, each device addressable
- Easy to use with terminal software
- Device discovery for automated systems
bVT100 Features
- Low Voltage 3.3V or 5V electrical interface
- Medium distance, depends on cabling and speed approximately 10m (30')
- Multiple devices on the same bus by using device select lines
- Any number of devices on the same bus
- Very easy to use
- Uses hardware handshaking RTS<>CTS
